CHAPTER NINE

I slightly pulled away from him, but he wouldn’t let me completely go as I turn so that I could look at him. “Why am I just finding out about this? What does Sylvia have to do with this? Why hasn’t anyone else said anything about this?”

“Bo wasn’t like one of your friends or something. Why would anybody bring his name up here at the hospital around you, knowing how you felt about him? Baby, nobody was trying to hide anything from you. But now knowing that he had something to do with your attack, I don't feel sorry for him,” he said with a very intense look on his face. I thought about what he had said and it did make since why would they bring up Bo knowing I didn’t like him.

“Not to mention at the time, you couldn’t remember what happened. But I do have a question for you. Do you know who the other guy was that was talking to the lady you mentioned?” Derrick asked.

“There was two of them. I don’t know their names, but I’ll never forget their faces as long as I live,” I stated looking away from him down at my cast.

My damn arm was itching again under this cast. I was just happy that it wasn't broken as bad as they thought it was at first.

It was only dislocated at the shoulder and my ulna was fractured, but it wasn't as bad as Dr. Jones thought. She was going to check my arm today to see if I could get this dang cast off. While I was sitting there messing with my cast, Derrick's phone started ringing.

I guess he realized I needed a break from our conversation. So he just sat there watching me pick at my cast while he pulled his phone from the case. I looked up to see him watching me while he answered his phone. The entire time he was sitting there staring back at me.

“Hey. What's up?” he said into the phone. Then all of a sudden he just started shaking his head. I couldn’t hear what the other person on the phone said, but I did see him when he started smiling. So, I figured it couldn’t have been anything bad.

“Alright, how much time do we have?” he asked, “Okay, I’ll give her the heads up right now. Alright TJ, I’ll see you in a bit,” he said and hung up his phone.

“What's going on?” I asked.

He just looked at me and smile then he said, “Your best friend and her entourage are on their way to your room. TJ wanted to give us heads up.”

“Well, how much time do we have before they get here? Wait a minute, you said her entourage? Who all coming?” I asked watching him, but before he could say anything there was a knock on the door. I just looked at him and said, “Come in.” In walked my mom, Uncle Bill, Mr. and Mrs. Colvin, and behind everybody else was Kiyah and TJ.
